ITINERARY:

 

Day 1: Arrive in Vientiane Arrive Vientiane - the capital of , transfer to the hotel. Visiting this sleepy riveside capital city with the the Great Sacred Stupa - That Luang, the beautiful Wat Phra Keow, the remarkable Wat Sisaket and the Arc de Triumph. Overnight in Vientiane .

Day 2: Vientiane- Vang Vieng  Depart to Vang Vieng (200 km) through the beautiful countryside passing the ricefield. Upon arrival visit the hill tribe ethinic villages, the local hill tribe market and a stone Budda from the 11th century, then take a boat cruise on Nam Song River , visit the stunning Tham Chang and Thampou caves. Overnight in Vang Vieng.

Day 3: Vang Vieng- Luang Prabang  Depart to Luang Prabang (250 km), the oldest town and the ancient capital of , the center of religious life in and today the World Heritage City . Upon arrival, visit Wat Visounalat, known as "the Watermelon Stupa"; the ornate Wat Mai; and Wat Xieng Thong, an exquisite 400 year old royal monastery complex. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 4: Luang Prabang  For early-risers there is a very special (optional) dawn visit to witness the long lines of orange-robed monks leaving their pagodas to receive offerings of food from residents. Take a full-day boat trip on the mighty Mekong River to the holy caves Pak Ou where thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues in various sizes are crammed into the two caves carved out of a towering limestone cliff along the riverbank. Continue down river to Ban Xang Hai village, where the local residents create a unique rice wine called “lao lao”. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 5: Luang Prabang Visit the Former Royal Palace , now the National Museum and the central market. Continuing to the typical Lao village at Ban Xang Khong, a weaving village where the traditional Lao textiles are woven on ancient wooden looms, then visit Kuang Sii waterfalls. In late afternoon, we climb 328 steps to the top of Mount Phousi to enjoy the sunset over the Mekong River and mountains beyond and a panoramic view of the city and the surrounding countryside. Evening enjoy a special farewell dinner. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 6: Luang Prabang- Departure  Free at leisure untill transfer to the airport for departure flight.   End of services.
